WEEK THREE: DAY 19
Gifted for the Good of Others
Today’s Bible Reading
Isaiah 41-44; 1 Corinthians 12
Focus Scripture
“To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.”
1 Corinthians 12:7
Prepare Your Heart
God has given every believer gifts, abilities, experiences, and opportunities that can be used for the good of others. Your gifts were never intended to terminate on you. The Spirit equips His people so that we can strengthen the church and participate in God’s work in the world. Loving our neighbor includes making what God has entrusted to us available for His purposes.
Pray
Thank God for the unique ways He has gifted and shaped you.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you recognize how your gifts can serve others rather than simply benefit yourself.
Pray for people who took a new step into serving after Next Steps Sunday. Ask God to give them joy and fruitfulness.
Pray for our serve teams and ministry leaders. Ask God to help them serve from dependence on the Spirit rather than their own strength.
Pray that God would raise up new leaders, missionaries, church planters, foster families, mentors, and servants from within our church.
Ask God to show you needs in your neighborhood or community that intersect with the gifts and resources He has given you.
Pray for your One More. Ask God how He might use your particular story, experiences, and gifts to point them toward Christ.
What God has placed in your hands may be part of His provision for someone else.
One More
Offer something you have. Your time, skills, home, connections, experience, or attention may be exactly what someone needs.
