WEEK ONE: DAY 4

He Alone Is My Rock

Today’s Bible Reading

Isaiah 17-19; Psalm 62; 1 Corinthians 1

Focus Scripture

“For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.”

Psalm 62:1-2

Prepare Your Heart

Many of us spend a lot of our lives looking for something solid enough to hold us. Success, security, relationships, approval, and even our own plans can feel dependable until suddenly they aren’t. By grace, David directs his soul somewhere better: God alone is my rock. Seeking God means learning to rest the weight of our lives on the One who cannot be shaken.

Pray

  • Thank God that He is your rock, your salvation, and your fortress.

  • Ask Him to reveal anything you are trusting to give you security that only He can provide.

  • Bring the circumstances that feel uncertain or unstable in your life before Him.

  • Pray for middle school and high school students who feel pressure to find their identity in achievement, relationships, popularity, athletics, or approval. Ask God to root their identity deeply in Christ.

  • Pray for college students and young adults making decisions about friendships, relationships, vocation, and their future. Ask God to give them wisdom and a genuine desire to follow Jesus.

  • Pray for parents who are struggling to trust God with circumstances in their children’s lives that they cannot control.

  • Pray for your One More. Ask God to expose the insufficiency of whatever they are trusting in apart from Christ and draw them to the security found in Him.

Name before the Lord something you are tempted to control. Entrust it to Him again.

One More

Ask your One More a real question this week and take time to listen to the answer. Genuine gospel relationships begin with genuine love for people.
