Prepare Your Heart

Paul begins this section with thanksgiving. Before speaking about ministry, opposition, or his own circumstances, he thanks God for Christ. That's a fitting way to begin these 21 days. Before bringing your requests to the Lord, spend time thanking Him for the gospel. Remember, prayer isn't our attempt to gain God's attention; it's our response to His gracious invitation.

Pray

Thank God for rescuing you through Jesus and welcoming you into His presence.
Ask the Lord to deepen your love for Christ during these next 21 days.
Pray that the "fragrance of the knowledge of Christ" would become evident in your words, attitudes, and relationships.
Pray that Steadfast Church would become increasingly marked by joy, humility, and dependence upon God.
Pray for parents, grandparents, and caregivers as a new school year begins. Ask God to help them point the next generation to Christ.
Pray by name for your One More. Ask God to prepare their heart to receive the gospel.

Before ending your prayer, sit quietly for a minute or two. Resist the urge to fill every moment with words. Simply enjoy the Lord's presence.
