WEEK ONE: KNOWING CHRIST
Seek His Face
"You have said, 'Seek my face.' My heart says to you, 'Your face, LORD, do I seek.'"
Psalm 27:8
Welcome to Week One
Welcome to the first week of One Thing I Seek. As we begin these 21 days together, our prayer is not simply that we would pray more, but that we would know the Lord more deeply. Prayer is far more than bringing requests before God. It is responding to His gracious invitation to draw near. Before we seek His help, we seek His face.
This week, we'll pray especially for our own hearts, our homes, and the next generation as a new school year begins. We'll also continue praying faithfully for our One More, that one person God has placed on our heart who needs the hope of Christ.
At the end of the day, this guide is simply that; a guide, not a rule. I would caution you not to rush through the day’s prompts, but to let your heart linger. If something specific stands out, pray over that one thing until you sense you’re ready to move forward. The goal is not to finish the guide as much as it is to seek the presence of God. I am eager to hear how the Lord meets you as you journey through this next three weeks.
Pastor's Prayer
Father,
Thank You for inviting us into Your presence through Jesus Christ. Forgive us for the many times we've been content with knowing about You instead of truly knowing You. As we begin these 21 days, awaken fresh affection for Christ in our hearts. Teach us to seek Your face before we seek Your favor. Strengthen our homes, encourage our children, unite our church, and let our love for Christ overflow into every conversation and relationship. May these weeks become the beginning of a deeper life of prayer for each one of us.
Amen
