WEEK THREE: DAY 17

Seek Their Good

Today’s Bible Reading

Isaiah 36-37; Psalm 123; 1 Corinthians 10

Focus Scripture

“Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.”

1 Corinthians 10:24

Prepare Your Heart

Few verses capture loving our neighbor more simply than this one. Our natural instinct is to ask what’s best, easiest, or most convenient for us. Jesus teaches us to look outward. Today, ask God to help you notice what would genuinely be good for the people He has placed around you, then be willing to act when He shows you.

Pray

  • Thank Jesus that He did not seek His own comfort, but gave Himself for your good.

  • Ask God to reveal where self-interest or busyness keeps you from noticing the needs of others.

  • Pray for sensitivity to practical needs around you, including a lonely neighbor, struggling family, overwhelmed coworker, or hurting friend.

  • Ask God to make Steadfast a church known for loving our neighbors in tangible ways.

  • Pray for people in our community who are vulnerable, overlooked, isolated, or in need.

  • Ask God to show our church where we can serve wisely and faithfully.

  • Pray for your One More. Ask, “Lord, how can I love this person in a way they can actually experience?”

Do not only ask God to show you a need. Be prepared for Him to ask you to meet one.

One More

Do something practical for someone today. Bring a meal. Help with a task. Send the text. Make the call. Give your time.
