WEEK ONE: DAY 1
Seek His Face
"You have said, 'Seek my face.' My heart says to you, 'Your face, LORD, do I seek.'"
Psalm 27:8
Welcome to Week One
Welcome to the first week of One Thing I Seek. As we begin these 21 days together, our prayer is not simply that we would pray more, but that we would know the Lord more deeply. Prayer is far more than bringing requests before God. It is responding to His gracious invitation to draw near. Before we seek His help, we seek His face.
This week, we'll pray especially for our own hearts, our homes, and the next generation as a new school year begins. We'll also continue praying faithfully for our One More, that one person God has placed on our heart who needs the hope of Christ.
At the end of the day, this guide is simply that; a guide, not a rule. I would caution you not to rush through the day’s prompts, but to let your heart linger. If something specific stands out, pray over that one thing until you sense you’re ready to move forward. The goal is not to finish the guide as much as it is to seek the presence of God. I am eager to hear how the Lord meets you as you journey through this next three weeks.

Prepare Your Heart
We begin these 21 days by looking at Jesus in prayer. In Gethsemane, He brings His anguish honestly before the Father and then entrusts Himself completely to the Father’s will. Prayer is not about convincing God to give us what we want. It is bringing our desires to Him while learning to desire His will above our own.
Pray
Thank Jesus for willingly going to the cross for you.
Bring the circumstances weighing on you honestly before your Father.
Ask God to deepen your trust in Him when His answer is different from the one you want.
Pray, “Not my will, but Yours,” over one specific situation in your life today.
Ask the Lord to deepen your love for Christ during these 21 days.
Pray that Steadfast would become a people who seek God Himself, not merely what He can do for us.
Pray by name for your One More. Ask God to prepare their heart to know Jesus.
Spend a quiet minute surrendering whatever you are most tempted to control.
One More
Write your One More's name in the front of your Bible or somewhere you'll see it every day over these next three weeks.
